MCF Awards Funds to 14 Local Nonprofits

Mobridge, SD - The Mobridge Community Fund Drive is wrapping up, with fourteen local nonprofits receiving letters and a check in the mail this week. The fund drive raised $5,418 this year, an average of $387 per nonprofit applicant.

This spring, the original Mobridge Community Fund’s Board of Directors decided to pass their torch to Mobridge Community Development Corporation. The merger was a strategic move to improve local nonprofits’ access to timely, meaningful support year-round through MCDC’s free grant writing and technical services.

In an effort to grow the Mobridge Community Fund’s long-term positive impact for local nonprofit partners, the MCDC Board of Directors is hoping to raise funds for a permanent endowment with South Dakota Community Foundation this fall. This fund, called a Community Savings Account, will be managed by the investment officers at South Dakota Community Foundation while interest earned off of the account will be disbursed by Mobridge Community Development Corporation.
