Tiger Kids Update

Since the last time we did a public update on Tiger Kids, so much has changed. It’s time to take stock of all we’ve accomplished to date with this program.

• We succeeded in becoming a licensed before and after school program and are currently the only such program in Walworth County

• Over the summer, we provided 20 children, ages 5 to 9 with a full-time summer program

• With the help of funding from SD Community Fund and the State of South Dakota, we outfitted two classrooms with everything needed for our K-3 after school program

• We are currently providing 23 students with after school care each evening and 6 students with an amazing PreK experience

• We have created rewarding jobs for 17 dedicated child care workers, nine of which are local high school students

We are continuing to work with community and state partners on ways to make this program more sustainable. We hope to offer PreK and out-of-school programming for local elementary students for many years to come.
